Our Commitment to Sustainability
Every action we take reflects our dedication to social and environmental sustainability. This is the core of Embryolab’s vision. We believe that contributing to a healthier lifestyle is fundamental to improving fertility. For us, this means promoting a smoke-free environment. Smoking has a significant impact on reproductive health, and we strive to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to become a parent.
While we’re passionate about this goal, we also recognize the reality of the current situation. Within our organization of 105 employees (83 women and 22 men), 10% are smokers. Among our visitors seeking IVF treatment, smoking rates vary: 1 in 2 Greeks of reproductive age smoke, while 1 in 10 of our international patients smoke. We understand these challenges and are working actively to promote positive change.
2024: A Year of Impact!
This year, we took significant steps towards a healthier planet:
- 10,680 Cigarette Butts Recycled! Thanks to our partnership with Cigarette Cycle, we’ve recycled over 10,000 cigarette butts, transforming them into valuable resources. This has already resulted in the production of 0.60 kg of fertilizer and 2 kg of plastic raw material!
The positive impact of this initiative is substantial and measurable:
- 17 kg of CO2 prevented from entering the atmosphere.
- 1 kg of CH4 (methane) prevented from entering the atmosphere.
- 5,340 cubic meters of water saved from pollution.
- 416 MJ of non-renewable energy saved.
These achievements demonstrate our commitment to protecting the environment, promoting health, and improving the well-being of everyone.
