Obtaining testicular tissue with fine-needle aspiration (FNA)

In cases of proven obstructive azoospermia where the proper function of spermatogenesis has been confirmed or in cases where the partner is unable to provide sperm on the day of oocyte retrieval, it is possible to collect spermatozoa directly from the testes.

In this process, after the partner is given mild sedation, using a very fine needle, testicular parenchyma is obtained, in which spermatozoa are detected with the help of the microscope.

The same method can be used where the genetic material of the sperm has a SDF Index (DFI).

• The unit has experienced urologists/andrologists for the process of FNA
• The method has been applied at Embryolab with great effectiveness since 2004
