Developing embryos in Embryoscope®

Embryoscope® is a special incubator for embryo culture, globally accepted as the most up-to-date and appropriate system for embryo culture and development. It is equipped with a camera that automatically captures pictures from the moment of oocyte fertilisation until the day of the embryo transfer.

At predetermined intervals, a (time-lapse) video is generated from the image capture process, providing embryologists with key information on the morphological characteristics of the embryo during its development.

Another important benefit of using Embryoscope® is that the embryo stays in a stable and secure environment and we can observe it inside the incubator. This ensures harmonious embryo development, as we avoid exposure of the embryo, to a change in temperature and pH, which could have a negative effect on embryo development.

The innovative aspect of this system is that it enables embryologists at Embryolab to make a robust evaluation of the embryos, as well as give them the option to select the most viable ones, unlike conventional development systems applied in IVF. The result increases the probability of pregnancy significantly, even for couples with past failures at implantation level.

WHY EMBRYOLAB?

Embryolab is one of the first units in Greece and worldwide to equip its laboratory with Embryoscope, and has invested in the latest incubator to optimise the development conditions and provide stable monitoring for embryos. Very few units have comparable experience in the use of Embryoscope.
