Stella Marinou is an Anaesthesiologist specialising in Obstetrics Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine. She specialises in biomedical acupuncture and particularly in the treatment of acute and chronic pain, psychosomatic disorders and infertility.
She graduated in 1999 from the Medical Faculty of the Semmelweis University in Hungary.
From 2000 to 2001, she was Manager of the Medical Emergency Centre for Prehospital Medicine in Chalkidiki.
In 2002, she acquired the Degree in Contextual Life Support of Adults from the British Resuscitation Council.
From 2002 to 2004, she worked at the General Hospital of Kavala, specialising in Anaesthesiology and Pain Treatment as Instructor in Emergency Medicine at the IEK of Kavala.
From 2004 to 2007, she completed a specialisation in Adult and Paediatric Anaesthesiology at the General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas” in Obstetrics Anaesthesiology at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki Hippocratio, while she specialised in Neurosurgery and Cardiac Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Treatment at the University General Hospital of Athens AHEPA. In 2008, she received the title of specialist doctor of Anaesthesiology.
At the same time, she acquired a Diploma in Advanced Life Support in Emergency Trauma from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) (2005) and the Diploma in Advanced Airway Support (2006). From 2005, together with the time she spent preparing her medical specialisation, she completed postgraduate studies in Biomedical Acupuncture and received the Diploma of Medical Acupuncture in 2007.
In 2008, she acquired the Diploma of the Foundation for European Education in Anaesthesiology (FEEA).
From 2008 to 2009, she worked as an anaesthesiologist at the General Hospital of Polygyros in Chalkidiki, while in 2010 she was a Research Associate at the University Clinic of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Medicine and Pain Management at the University General Hospital of Athens AHEPA.
In 2009, she obtained the Diploma in Advanced Life Support in Emergency Paediatrics from the American Academy of Paediatrics and, in 2010, she worked as a trainer in the same field.
She has been Head of Surgery Pain Management and Acupuncture at Pylaia of Thessaloniki since 2011.
Ms Marinou has been a member of the Anaesthesiology Department at Embryolab since 2011.
She has presented papers and studies at Greek and international conferences. She systematically monitors international further training seminars on the treatment of pain and infertility.
